Submission Terms

By submitting work to Exastential, you agree to Exastential’s Submission Terms. Exastential is published by Exa Labs, Inc. (“Exa”, “we” or “us”).
Exastential’s Submission Terms encourage artistic freedom and follow common literary publishing practice: you retain ownership of your submitted work (a “Submission”).
When you submit your Submission to Exastential, you are sharing it with our editorial team for review. Our editors and reviewers will read it, discuss it internally, and may share it with collaborators involved in producing our magazine.
Submitting does not mean we will select, publish, or pay for your Submission. Due to the possible volume of Submissions, we cannot guarantee a personal response to every Submission.
You grant us, and we receive, only the limited right to read, copy, and circulate your Submission internally for evaluation purposes. You keep full ownership of everything you submit.
We will not publish any Submission without a separate written Contributor Agreement. If we select your work, we will contact you to discuss the terms of a Contributor Agreement, including compensation, first publication rights, editing, credit, and other details.
Submitting work on a particular subject does not give you any exclusive claim to that subject. We may receive multiple Submissions exploring similar themes, and we may also produce or commission works on similar topics.
By submitting, you confirm to us that:
- The Submission is your work that you have the right to submit;
- The Submission has not been previously published; work previously shared on a website or personal blog is not eligible, even if it has since been taken down.
- The Submission does not copy anyone else’s work.
You must be at least 13 years old to submit work to Exastential. If you are between 13 and 17 years old, a parent or legal guardian must review these Submission Terms and approve your submission. If your work is selected, your parent or guardian must also approve and sign a Contributor Agreement on your behalf.
If you are under 13, you may not submit work directly; your parent or guardian may submit work on your behalf by contacting us at hello@exastential.com.
We may update these Submission Terms. The current version will always be available on Exastential.com. Submitting work after an update means you accept the revised terms.

Privacy: If You complete the Submission Form, we will collect your name and email with your Submission. We will not sell your information. We describe how we handle your information in our Privacy Policy.
